Project Overview

The Maryland Transportation Authority operates two major travel plazas on I-95 - the Maryland House and the Chesapeake House. The travel plazas provide an array of services to motorists, including food, fuel, retail services, automated-teller machines, and comprehensive traveler and tourism information services.

Due to the age of the facilities - the Maryland House opened in 1963 and the Chesapeake House in 1975 - the Authority has announced plans to redevelop both plazas by contracting with one entity as the Prime Contractor (Prime).
